Verse: Sherlock BBC, with hints of canon.
Author's summary: "You’re not the only one to enjoy a good murder. There’s others out there just like you – except you’re just a man. And they’re so much more than that." Jefferson Hope, A Study in Pink // When they are children, Moriarty is a game. A story they tell only to each other, in whispers. Jim and Molly Moriarty, from the beginning.

Reccer's comments: While a good many of you will probably already be familiar with The Anatomist, I hope it's new and exciting for the rest of you. Frankly, I'm flabbergasted that this has not shown up here yet but I have checked, and re-checked, and then checked again, and no one has recced this story. For a while, it appeared to be a WIP, but [livejournal.com profile] rosa_acicularis now lists it as complete. Even when the last part was called 4/5, the shifting, non-linear structure made it so much less frustrating to read than your average WIP. Basically, it seemed like it could be complete at any part, and was always wonderfully satisfying despite being "unfinished".

This is, without a doubt, my favorite Mollyarty story. Molly is fascinating and, to me at any rate, entirely plausible in this.

9: That autumn, Jim starts bringing her dead birds. )

Fic: An Imperfect Understanding

Title: An Imperfect Understanding
Author:   [livejournal.com profile] unduneljay
Pairing: Holmes/Watson
Length: @ 18,000 words in 9 chapters
Rating: R/NC17 overall
Warnings: none
Verse: ACD canon-verse
Author's summary: Holmes needs help from a friend. The only friend.
Reccer's comments:  Dr. Watson is determined to prevent his friend from succumbing to his addiction, willing to do whatever it takes. And, he's a doctor. So he lends a hand, and thus begins our tale...
I love this story, wherein Our Heros are so deeply caring of each other, but not always comfortable expressing it. The stress of cases tests their friendship, and deepens their bond. Undun captures something of the eloquent whimsy of ACD and Victorian sensibilities.
