Reccer's comments: The author once described this as "A fic that might be a sermon... sorry", and indeed it might be, but I never felt preached at. If pressed I think I would say that this is my favourite fic ever. It's one of those stories that I know made me grow as a person. The fic deals with the moral issues surrounding homosexuality and religion, and how they can wear away at even the closest relationships. The Oscar Wilde passages are thought-provoking, especially from a 21C perspective, and the conclusion never fails to make me tearful, no matter how many times I read it. [livejournal.com profile] katieforsythe is knowledgeable about the Holmes canon, but I think this fic should be accessible to anyone, regardless of their knowledge of the original stories. The issues surrounding religion and homophobia might strike a little too close to home for some people, but I think the hope that runs through the piece makes it worthwhile.

She's a wonderful author! She's just written so much that I basically picked fics out of her masterlist at random ^^ - haven't even read a quarter of all of them.

I just answered you! Sorry,I'm slow in replying cause I'm on my tablet where I can only type with two fingers ;)
