The Tea Sugar Experiment, by ScopesMonkey
Aug. 23rd, 2011 08:59 amTitle: The Tea Sugar Experiment and following (and preceding) couple of dozen stories, a.k.a. The Sugar Universe
Author: ScopesMonkey
Pairing: S/J, M/OC, OC/OC
Length: this one is only 2750; some of the following in this universe are novella-length.
Rating: from T to M
Warnings: some non-graphic descriptions and discussions of rape and violence; nothing that would not fit in a canon episode.
Verse: Sherlock BBC
Author's summary: none
Reccer's comments: I'm a huge fan of multiple-stories, multiple-characters, evolved AUs with attractive and believable OCs who, nevertheless, never occupy the space of the canon majors, but give them depth and reveal new sides to their personalities. This AU is all that. Prepare for a week-long, highly enjoyable read. Only a couple of stories are WIPs, and the author updates them regularly; however, even if you don't want to read WIPs, there's still plenty to read. And re-read.
The Tea Sugar Experiment features only John and Sherlock; the rest of them features the rest of the band plus, as I mentioned, some very good OCs. The portrait of Sherlock's mother, in particular, I consider to be the best in the fandom, and Sherlock and Mycroft's antagonistic love is explored in depth.

Re: thank you!
Date: 2011-08-23 07:44 pm (UTC)You're very welcome. I write long myself, and I know how disheartening it is, when you write something 200+ pages long, with a ton of research involved, and it doesn't seem to be read!
I like your Sam. I love Sybyl. I'm kind of sad over what you did to Harry, but as I'm a detox nurse, accidentally... well, it's more realistic than a lot of other things I saw in the fandom. I haven't read the last big one yet, so I'm still not decided on whether I like your take on Mycroft and Sherlock or not... even if it is, again, more realistic than a lot of others. Like is, probably, a wrong word. I like it. I'm just not happy with it. :)
I don't want to spoil the other readers too much here :) so zipping up my mouth now.
