Reccer's comments: I went into this thinking, okay, a fun little Halloween story. Then BAM! i got hit hard in the feels. First off there's the case, which is a fabulous tongue-in-cheek romp through the 80s that leaves bodies galore in its wake. Then there's all the fun of dressing up for Halloween in sexy, subtext-laden costumes. But finally (most importantly), of course, there are John and Sherlock pining desperately for each other until they finally get a clue, and it’s at that point that the fic takes off from being a good-natured dashabout and becomes something of real substance and beauty. This is one of those stories that you think is just going to be a quick distraction, but ends up sneaking into your heart and settling there.
