Well, I found her completely by accident a year and a half ago, but it makes sense that lots of people who weren't in Sherlock Holmes fandom and thus didn't know about her would wander around thanks to the BBC 'verse. That's why it was so important to me to rec this, really. ;)
You're very right, about that (hence the eeeeendless list of tags on this post) — they don't always understand each other, and they cut each other deep, but in the end they're still beautifully in love. It's the best rendition of their relationship I've ever seen.
Heh, I see what you mean. My personal favourite is Birds To A Lighthouse, but there's something about the last lines of The Lucky One that just — tugs at my heartstrings. Every. Single. Time. I love her Lestrade, really.
